Privacy Policy
Elyps AI is an AI video editor. It comes in two editions: Elyps Desktop, which runs on your own computer, and Elyps Pro, a web app you sign in to with Google. This policy explains what each one does with your information. In short: we use your data only to edit your videos, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.
Elyps Desktop
Elyps Desktop runs entirely on your computer. Your footage, projects and finished videos stay on your computer. We don't run a server for it and receive nothing from it. To transcribe, plan and create graphics and music it sends audio, video frames, transcripts and text to Google's Gemini API using your own Gemini API key, under your agreement with Google. Your key is stored encrypted on your computer and is never shown to the editing agent. The app checks GitHub for new versions; that request contains no personal information.
Elyps Pro: what we collect
- Your Google account basics — your name, email address and profile picture, from Google Sign-In, to identify your account.
- Google Drive files you choose — Elyps Pro asks for the
drive.filepermission only. That lets it open the files you pick in the Google Picker or upload through Elyps, and the files it creates for you, such as your finished videos in an "Elyps" folder. It can't see anything else in your Drive. - Your projects — what you ask for, the plan, your answers, the edit's settings and the list of files in each project.
- Usage — how many AI calls each edit made and what they cost, so we can show you your usage and apply the monthly allowance.
- Your own Gemini API key, if you add one — stored encrypted and used only for your edits. You can remove it at any time in Settings.
Elyps Pro: how your videos are processed
- When you start an edit, the files for that edit are copied to a private, temporary workspace on Google Cloud (region asia-south1, Mumbai), which exists only while the edit runs.
- Audio, video frames, transcripts and text are sent to Google's Gemini API (and, where you choose it, other models on Google Cloud Vertex AI) to transcribe the talk, plan the edit, write graphics, review frames and make music.
- The finished video is saved to your Google Drive. A working copy is kept in our private cloud storage so you can ask for changes; it is deleted automatically after 30 days.
- The editing agent runs sandboxed. It can't see your Google sign-in, your Drive access or any API key.
Who else handles your data
Only the service providers needed to run Elyps: Google Cloud (hosting, storage, database) and Google's Gemini API / Vertex AI (the AI models), each under their own terms and privacy commitments. We don't sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising. We'll disclose information only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Edit workspaces: deleted when the edit ends. Working copies of results: 30 days.
- Account, project and usage records: while your account exists. They are deleted within 30 days of you asking.
- Your videos in Google Drive are yours: they stay until you delete them.
Your choices
- Revoke Elyps Pro's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Ask us to export or delete your account data by emailing ayushpatnaik@gmail.com.
- Remove your own API key in Settings at any time.
Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens and API keys are stored encrypted. Each edit runs in its own isolated container, under a separate identity with no access to other users' data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects it.
Children
Elyps is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. If a change affects how we use your data, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
