Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of Elyps AI: Elyps Pro, the web app, and Elyps Desktop, the app you install. By using Elyps you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What Elyps does
Elyps is an AI video editor. You give it footage and say what you want. AI models transcribe, plan, cut, animate, add music and render a video for you to review. Elyps Desktop is open-source software under the MIT Licence; the licence governs the code, and these terms govern your use of the service.
Your account
You sign in to Elyps Pro with your Google account. You're responsible for what happens in your account, so keep your Google account secure. You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to the footage, images, logos and text you give Elyps, and to the videos it makes for you. You give us permission to store, process and transmit your content only as needed to provide Elyps to you, including sending it to the AI providers described in the Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of your content and don't use it for anything else.
Acceptable use
You may only upload content you have the right to use. Don't use Elyps to:
- make content that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- deceive people about who is speaking, or present someone as saying or doing something they didn't, without their consent;
- harass, defame or harm anyone, or make sexual content involving minors;
- break, overload, probe or get around the security or usage limits of the service.
Use of the AI models is also subject to Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
Check what the AI makes
AI can get things wrong: a misheard word, a wrong name, a number shown out of context. Elyps marks illustrative figures and asks you to approve the plan, but you are responsible for reviewing a video before you publish it.
Usage and costs
- Elyps Pro includes a monthly allowance of AI usage at no charge (currently US$5 of model usage per account). When it's used up, edits pause until the next month, unless you add your own Gemini API key.
- With your own key, AI usage is billed to you by Google under your agreement with Google, and the Elyps allowance doesn't apply.
- Elyps Desktop always uses your own key.
- We may change the allowance or the service limits. We'll tell you in the app before a change affects you.
Availability
We work to keep Elyps running, but we may change, pause or stop features, or the service, at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You can stop using Elyps at any time, and ask us to delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
Elyps is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Elyps. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Elyps in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50 if that's more.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app. If you keep using Elyps after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute.
